Zepbound (tirzepatide) was reviewed for the treatment of moderate to severe obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) in adults with obesity or overweight. The FDA review for Zepbound noted a difference from placebo in AHI (LS Mean) of -23.8 and a percent change from baseline in AHI of -56.2.
Wegovy (semaglutide) was reviewed for chronic weight management and to reduce the risk of major adverse cardiovascular events in adults with established cardiovascular disease and either obesity or overweight. The EMA EPAR variation assessment report for Wegovy indicated that 88.47% of participants achieved a body weight reduction of โฅ5%, and the estimated treatment difference in body weight change versus placebo was -14.81.
